This past April, Texas CEF Marketing Specialist, Raelyn Pracht worshiped with the wonderful people at Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel. Pastor Larry Knobloch invited CEF to join the Bible Study and present opportunities the members and the congregation have that would fit their financial needs. This was followed by a potluck with enjoyable fellowship where we discussed the history of the congregation and its long-standing relationship with Texas CEF.
But the story doesn’t end there . . . This story was 140 years in the making!
It was a wonderful day of celebration. Looking back at the past blessings of God in the proclamation of the Gospel, we are looking forward to His blessings as the Word continues to be proclaimed!”
– Pastor Larry Knobloch
On Sunday, June 4, a grand celebration took place commemorating 140 years of God’s grace. There was a special anniversary service with readings in German and with the sermon delivered by Texas District President, Michael Newman followed by fellowship and dinner.
Trinity Lutheran Church began as an idea, but it only took three years for them to grow from that idea into a thriving congregation. We are grateful for this beautiful and wonderful congregation in our Texas District.
“It was a joy to celebrate 140 years of ministry with the dear people of Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel. The congregation is a living example of God’s mission and His enduring faithfulness. Started by one of the original Texas missionaries, Rev. J.J. Trinklein, the congregation became one of the hubs of Texas Gospel outreach, serving as the site of the district office under district presidents Henry Studtmann and E.A. Heckmann. The legacy of Trinity in Riesel continues to give hope and encouragement to every Texas District ministry as we continue to share the Gospel throughout Texas.”
