After years of planning and 18 months of construction, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Harlingen dedicated their new and remodeled spaces on October 27, 2024. This includes a 3,200 sq. ft. gathering space that is now the main entrance to the campus as well as to the sanctuary. It also includes a complete redesign of one of the parking lots that has been transformed not just for parking cars but for the free ministry events happening on campus including Nativity Nights which brings over 3,000 people to St Paul each December.

In addition, a remodeled Parish Hall, the fire sprinkler system on the entire campus was brought up to current code as well as a fire alarm/detection system. A large new HD LED sign on the campus was also installed that helped welcome people to the new shaded parking lot later that same day of the dedication for the annual Trunk-or-Treat event which saw the largest attendance ever for the event with over 1,000 people.

Hallways and exits were raised to eliminate flooding issues from past rain events and hurricanes. At the same time, remodeled bathrooms and the kitchen were done by volunteers as well as upgraded LED lighting throughout the campus making the over 60-year-old campus completely up to date.

St. Paul is grateful for the partnership with CEF for the construction loan to better leverage our campus and location in Harlingen to continue to shine and share the love of God in Christ Jesus to our community.  – Pastor Nathan Wendorf
