Building for the Future

Enjoy the latest construction update from Steven Cashio, Business Manager at Zion Lutheran Church and School in Walburg.  What a wonderful example of your investments at work!

The speed of construction has been picking up over the last few weeks.  The roof decking should be completed by the end of the week.  This will allow the crew to finish putting on the roof of the main structure.  Over 60% of the exterior walls have been constructed along with multiple interior rooms that have been completely framed.

The excitement is building around campus as our student body returned today, kicking off the 2020-2021 school year.  Opening prayers were held over the intercom as students remained socially distanced inside their classroom, which was a deviation from our traditional back to school chapel service.  Many changes and adjustments are being made by both the church and school during this pandemic season in which  we find ourselves, however the faithful leaders here at Zion never miss an opportunity to share God’s grace and love with our student body.

During this difficult season we are reminded that it is an opportunity to shine brighter in a darkening world around us and to remember that we have a faithful, all-powerful Savior that is in control.  We can also look across campus and see that even in a time like this, the Lord can expand and grow his church as we watch this new addition come together here on the hilltop.
